M is for Mushishi (a.k.a the easy pick for Anime of the Year so far)

Had you know me well enough or generally talks to me for the past month or so, you'll see this coming from miles away. I was so excited for Mushishi Zoku Shou (a.k.a the 2nd season) since January and just can't seem to able to shut up about it. And given my current state of apathetic towards all anime in general lately this is a heaven sent gift to fuel back the anime watching in me.

And sure it's just Spring season, and there's more anime to come and be excited for, but I doubt anything will come and beat the general feels and downright screaming I did for Mushishi, hands down. Yes, even Book of Circus on the last 'K' letter post and 2nd season of Durarara!! falls short to this amazing piece of work.

The one that might be able to contend will be if they announce the production of Natsume Yuujinchou Go, but even then I doubt it will win; for Mushishi Zoku Shou is, if anything, nothing short of a miracle.

It started on January when out of nowhere, an OVA was released for the series, and needless to say, everyone was generally excited for it, -more Mushishi is better than none- but when the end credits reveal the new season slotted on Spring, the whole fandom explodes (the re-emergence of it at Tumblr is nothing short of amazing, and all the beautiful art that comes with it are surreal; seriously, the whole time I was like 'how do people art?!'). It's not the sort of anime that totally cashing-in commercial-wise, and the award-winning manga had long finished its serial, that nobody saw the sequel coming after 9 freaking years.

Mushishi is, after all, a rare beast when it first aired way back on 2005, and even more peculiar among all the airing ones today.

D is for Durarara!! (Season 2! Like hell yeah!!)

Way back in 2010 I watched and wound up loving this one anime called Durarara!! so much I wrote a recommendation post right after I'm done with the last episode because all the damn feels requires me to relieve the stress (?) by fangirling to oblivion. And at the end of it I mentioned my wish for a sequel and now, 2014 and I got my wish fulfilled!

Proof that I'm not making this up: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-03-15/durarara-gets-new-tv-anime-series

Anime Spring 2013 Preview

As mentioned on the last post, I...didn't follow any single anime on Winter season, and despite the humongous effort and prediction for the Fall season, I only end up watching K (weekly) and Jormungand Season 2 (marathon). Hell, I didn't even realize that the list for Spring was out until I caught Random Curiosity's preview by chance. OTL

So to be frank I didn't really have that much enthusiasm for this preview like I usually did before, but going through the chart/preview with the 'editor' helps I guess, as we end up poking fun here and there for the lolz, and I was like, 'this will make a good post!' and also spazzing like no other at some of them so yeah, one thing lead to another I guess.

As usual, I'll still do the verdict, as there's still chances of me catching some shows or another because Spring seems to bring some good shows indeed when I actually should damn start working on the drafts so yeah. Maybe this will bring back the weekly anime-watcher in me? Perhaps!

For convenience sake or I'm just lazy like that, I skip all those:
  • Kiddie shows (because it'll make me repeat the comments and that's boring, unless I can find something to say)
  • Card games (because it make me woe at all the potential but I'll never watch it because OMG CARD GAMES WHY)
  • Sequels in which I'm yet to watch the prequel of (because the chances of me watching them will be 0)
  • Shorts like all those 5-minute comedy gag trend (refer to the ones on kiddie shows above)
Disclaimer: credits for the pictures which I basically just crop to Neregate's chart. And view the complete list at Crunchyroll. Also, click on the picture for clearer/bigger view. :)

Tl;dr I made a summary of list on the verdicts at the end of the review minus the ones I'm not watching.

Anime Fall 2012 Season Preview

As mentioned on the last post, here it is; the Spring Fall season preview! Okay, I know I sort of promised before, and actually I did wrote the Spring preview post (which I take recycle as basis for this very post), but yeah, things happen yadda yadda so yeah. Alas, I'm back! So this can be a kinda comeback post for this blog, and yes, I make a darn effort this time with the inclusion of pictures which I basically just crop take from Neregate's chart.

If you want more info and concrete preview, you can just check out at most animeblogs, (link to them are at the sidebar) though here I linked you to Random Curiosity's, because they even got the schedule for the airing date and more information on the series and whatnot.

The whole preview/impression is mostly based on my own interest, and also judging on the info I got everywhere from the blogosphere on the series. But then, my taste is mostly random anyway, so yeah.

Still, Fall is shaping to be one heck of a ride indeed; I was gushing at some series so bad like you have no idea and at the same time shaking my head with an obvious 'NOOOOOOOOOOOO' at the other orz (trust me this is not the last time you saw that anguish cry of howl because it's the perfect description one can get and I'm lazy like that).

Enough chit-chat, let's just get going with the long post. And click on the picture for clearer/bigger view. :)

Eight Flew Over, One was Destroyed and (Somewhat) Final Winter Anime Impression

If I can divide my mood and overall interest, I think it'll be largely into three portion; writing, anime, and music. And I tend to focus on one interest at one time (somewhat obsessively compare to others) and that, really, is the main reason of my procrastination. Ironically, I realized this when I finished the first episode of THE anime and caught myself (almost) tempted to write the first impression of that episode instead of the intended post; which is my writing. And when I'm damn interested in writing, I won't even bother with anime; heck, that's (one of) the reason I (kinda) stop downloading some anime instead of ones I really watch, but more on that later.

For now, this is the link, as per usual.
