A is for And The Looking Glass Falls (and intro to the AtoZ challenge)

Apparently there are times that I wound up forgetting the fact that this blog actually exist (to my horror). Of course, I can make 1001 excuses on why I'm not updating and I swear it will all be plausible in so many ways but that still didn't change the fact that this. blog. is. dead. (sorta).

So in order to revive this place from the oblivion, I'm participating in the AtoZ blogging challenge where the blogger is required to blog everyday sans Sunday starting on 1st of April (which is today, yeah). You can check out the details by clicking on the badge at the sidebar.

(I mentioned my intention on doing this to my 'editor' imouto and I'm pretty sure she's half-convinced it's not going to work; but I need to get a move on or I'm forever stuck in limbo thanks to the disaster that is last year's NaNoWriMo. For the record I don't open the MS Word since. Damnit.)

Anyways.

It occurs to me that I'm yet to put in a link to the last piece of completed work I ever did (and the only one last year OTL), and it just so happen it starts with A, so what better way to start the whole thing by doing so?

The Best of the Best of Korean Music in 2012 (according to MY standard)

So I made a draft for this post way back in January on MS Word because of writer's block and in some sort of a weird twist of fate, found it when I am hit by writer's block (again). Sure, it's already May 2013, and in K-pop, stuffs from 2012 is already irrelevant (sorta), but hey, we can never have enough of list in our lives (at least, mine is), and maybe this can be some reminiscent sorta post? Haha! Though it's more like I feel that it's a waste to throw it away orz

So why an award (kinda) list? That’s because;
  1. I can cross-post this to that other blog because I'm lazy like that.
  2. Korean award always irks the hell out of me because of the no attendance no award policy (what?)
  3. Most online award are filled with fan votes and it pissed me off when the better candidate losing out just because the fandom is smaller OTL
So way to fix this? Make my own! Like a boss.

Bear in mind I’m no music personnel (and I seriously can’t tell one weird tone to another) so this list is purely created from how much of the song/artist I’m enjoying for the past year. You don’t have to agree with me on anything from this, but it sure is good if I can share and introduce some songs you may never know before. So yeah.

Now, on to the list!

Anime Spring 2013 Preview

As mentioned on the last post, I...didn't follow any single anime on Winter season, and despite the humongous effort and prediction for the Fall season, I only end up watching K (weekly) and Jormungand Season 2 (marathon). Hell, I didn't even realize that the list for Spring was out until I caught Random Curiosity's preview by chance. OTL

So to be frank I didn't really have that much enthusiasm for this preview like I usually did before, but going through the chart/preview with the 'editor' helps I guess, as we end up poking fun here and there for the lolz, and I was like, 'this will make a good post!' and also spazzing like no other at some of them so yeah, one thing lead to another I guess.

As usual, I'll still do the verdict, as there's still chances of me catching some shows or another because Spring seems to bring some good shows indeed when I actually should damn start working on the drafts so yeah. Maybe this will bring back the weekly anime-watcher in me? Perhaps!

For convenience sake or I'm just lazy like that, I skip all those:
  • Kiddie shows (because it'll make me repeat the comments and that's boring, unless I can find something to say)
  • Card games (because it make me woe at all the potential but I'll never watch it because OMG CARD GAMES WHY)
  • Sequels in which I'm yet to watch the prequel of (because the chances of me watching them will be 0)
  • Shorts like all those 5-minute comedy gag trend (refer to the ones on kiddie shows above)
Disclaimer: credits for the pictures which I basically just crop to Neregate's chart. And view the complete list at Crunchyroll. Also, click on the picture for clearer/bigger view. :)

Tl;dr I made a summary of list on the verdicts at the end of the review minus the ones I'm not watching.

Holding Onto Gravity, That Other Blog, And Me (Ranting Like A Boss)

I mentioned before on how my interests and mood can be divided into three and all, but I've come to the point where there's an addition to that; nothing. Yes, as in none of the three manage to make me focus on them. Sure, I still follow on music (or rather, keep on rediscovering and repeating songs from way back or something), I still don't give up on writing (the editor was thisclose on exploding upon the discovery that is my draft folder), I still watch anime (though it's been years since I last download the latest episode of currently/aired anime -end up falling into Ghost In The Shell fandom instead), and I still read manga (which mostly are still ongoing and stops at freaking cliffhanger and make me rant endlessly like what), but it's just come to the point where I don't do those obsessively like I usually did, and the possibility of me letting them go or something is so so horrifying I end up upgrading/messing with the html on Livejournal's master list and make changes here and there on this blog.

Which leads to me (sorta) rediscovering things and this (totally, definitely will be long) post is my attempt to make peace with myself and rekindling all those passions (a.k.a me going to rant and justifying myself so yeah you might not want to read this). Never mind this is my first post in a long while, and the first in 2013 no less; I sincerely think we have establish the fact that I'm characteristically late with everything by now, so yeah.

Before you click the 'x' button though, here's the link as per usual.

Anime Fall 2012 Season Preview

As mentioned on the last post, here it is; the Spring Fall season preview! Okay, I know I sort of promised before, and actually I did wrote the Spring preview post (which I take recycle as basis for this very post), but yeah, things happen yadda yadda so yeah. Alas, I'm back! So this can be a kinda comeback post for this blog, and yes, I make a darn effort this time with the inclusion of pictures which I basically just crop take from Neregate's chart.

If you want more info and concrete preview, you can just check out at most animeblogs, (link to them are at the sidebar) though here I linked you to Random Curiosity's, because they even got the schedule for the airing date and more information on the series and whatnot.

The whole preview/impression is mostly based on my own interest, and also judging on the info I got everywhere from the blogosphere on the series. But then, my taste is mostly random anyway, so yeah.

Still, Fall is shaping to be one heck of a ride indeed; I was gushing at some series so bad like you have no idea and at the same time shaking my head with an obvious 'NOOOOOOOOOOOO' at the other orz (trust me this is not the last time you saw that anguish cry of howl because it's the perfect description one can get and I'm lazy like that).

Enough chit-chat, let's just get going with the long post. And click on the picture for clearer/bigger view. :)

Eight Flew Over, One was Destroyed and (Somewhat) Final Winter Anime Impression

If I can divide my mood and overall interest, I think it'll be largely into three portion; writing, anime, and music. And I tend to focus on one interest at one time (somewhat obsessively compare to others) and that, really, is the main reason of my procrastination. Ironically, I realized this when I finished the first episode of THE anime and caught myself (almost) tempted to write the first impression of that episode instead of the intended post; which is my writing. And when I'm damn interested in writing, I won't even bother with anime; heck, that's (one of) the reason I (kinda) stop downloading some anime instead of ones I really watch, but more on that later.

For now, this is the link, as per usual.

50 Things You Didn't Know About Me And My Anime

So there's this thing that seems like some sort of a meme (except not really) that has been circulating around among animebloggers; that is answering the 50 questions about you (me) in an honest way or something. While I don't consider myself as an animeblogger and this blog as anime-centric (since I'm random most of time and really, this blog won't suffer from the so-called 'lack of posts' or 'almost dead' situation if that is the case) just thought that I answer them, if only to at least post something.

...yeah, this is my countermeasure to make sure it WON'T happen that way.

I actually posted a new story at Livejournal a couple of days ago but I know better than to trust myself when it comes to typing or ranting so I'll post the link and rant about it and life in another post later.

Thus, let the long post questionnaire begin!
